Casa Aliento is a permanent supportive housing project located in Oxnard, CA. The development involves the renovation of two existing buildings on a 1.84-acre site, transforming an outdated motel into new affordable housing units that better serve the community. The development includes 70 units, primarily studios ranging from approximately 257 to 351 square feet, along with one manager’s unit. These are all housed within a two-story residential building, complemented by a 1,782-square-foot office and community building. The design features covered open corridors which allow for natural light and ventilation throughout the project’s circulation. Residents have access to a variety of shared amenities, including a community room, community gardens, BBQ and kitchen areas, a dog run, and bike parking, all designed to support comfort, connection, and daily living needs.
